How to Use Credit Notes in Sole Invoice

Using Credit Notes in Sole Invoice

Credit Notes in Sole Invoice are a tool that allows for you to issue a credit to your clients. This is particularly useful for situations such as refunds, discounts, or adjustments to previous invoices. By using credit notes, you can easily manage and track any credits issued to your clients, ensuring that your financial records remain accurate and up-to-date.

Creating a Credit Note

To get started we first need to create a credit note. This can be done by navigating to the "Credit Notes" page via the sidebar and then clicking "Create Credit Note" in the top right corner. Once the credit note form is open all we need to do is enter the necessary details such as the client, amount, and reason for the credit.

Invoicing with Credit Notes

We can now invoice clients and apply credit notes to these invoices. Head over to the "Invoices" page and click "Create Invoice". Once the invoice form is open, select an active client from the dropdown menu. If this client has any available credit notes, we will be able to select which of these credit notes we wish to apply to the invoice.

Once all other items are added to the invoice, we can create the invoice by clicking the "Create Invoice" button. The credit note will then be applied to the invoice, reducing the total amount due by the amount of the credit note.
